When CGA introduced the degree requirement over 10 years ago, we sought out partnerships that would allow our students to complete a degree in conjunction with their designation.

We made sure these programs provide maximum flexibility for satisfying the degree requirement and included courses that would compliment your designation and not require you to repeat any unnecessary courses.

In addition, we implemented a degree requirement that would allow your bachelors degree to be earned through a recognized program in any discipline from an approved degree granting institution. Foreign degrees deemed equivalent to Canadian standards are also acceptable. This flexibility means you can efficiently and strategically combine education from different disciplines. For example, degrees in computer science, finance, entrepreneurial studies, economics and international business can all effectively compliment the CGA designation.

Laurentian University Honours Bachelor of Commerce

The online Honours Bachelor of Commerce (H.B.Com) degree program delivered jointly by CGA Canada and Laurentian University (LU) will suit CGA students without an undergraduate degree interested in developing a strong foundation of contemporary core business and management skills while pursuing their CGA studies.

This affordable four (4) year honours university degree provides a solid grounding in business administration and is available nationally and internationally. The LU program satisfies the degree requirement for certification as a CGA and is fully integrated with the CGA Program of Professional Studies. Students can complete the degree concurrent with CGA studies in an additional five (5) terms of part-time study.

Laurentian Master of Business Administration

CGA Canada and Laurentian University offer an on-line Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree exclusively to CGA members and students. Combining an MBA degree with your CGA designation provides you with a powerful competitive advantage that allows you to stand out in today's fast-paced business environment. Designed for CGAs and senior CGA students, the LU online MBA program offers recognized quality and substantial flexibility.

SAIT - Bachelor of Applied Business Administration Accounting and Information Technology

Currently through SAIT Polytechnic, CGA students can complete a Bachelor of Applied Business Administration - Accounting and Information Technology. Through this program, students across Canada and throughout the world have the opportunity to work toward the CGA professional designation and a degree concurrently. The SAIT degree is available through part-time online learning and in a classroom setting in Calgary as well as several college locations in Ontario and British Columbia. This partnership provides students requiring a degree with an excellent and very efficient option to meet the CGA degree requirement, as well as the opportunity to combine their professional accounting designation with highly demanded information technology skills and training.
