Who We Are

The Michigan Aging Services System (MASS) website, designed in 1995, is sponsored by the Office of Services to the Aging (OSA), Michigan Department of Community Health. The purpose of the original MASS website was to assist primarily human services workers in the field of aging.

Over time, the audience for online resources provided through the state Office on Aging has grown to include senior citizens, adults caring for elderly persons, adult children concerned about their aging parents or relatives, persons interested in aging issues, and the general public which may or may not have a developed understanding of aging and its processes.

The Office on Aging's vision for MiSeniors.net has been to build an elderly and long-term care services portal giving all visitors access to a wealth of current information and supportive services.

The following audiences are expected to visit the new MiSeniors.net website:

• Planners and researchers
• Professionals in field of aging
• Interested consumers
• General public – job seekers, reporters, students
• Internal DCH Staff
• Advocates

If you don't find what you are looking for at MiSeniors.net, please contact us and let us know. Our professional staff have already assisted customers with complicated questions related to

• care giving, especially caring for the needs of persons with dementia,
• residential alternatives and services options for adults who may no longer be able to live at home alone,
• benefits and programs for which older adults may be eligible. For example, if you are 55 and older and looking for employment, you can use our online interactive pre-screen to determine if you might be eligible for the Senior Community Services Employment Program.
• health and nutrition strategies for active people in aging bodies.

Our customers' feedback helps us grow MiSeniors.net into a community that you will want to come back to for updates on events of interest to seniors and care givers, new insights from experts in the field of aging, and information that you can use.
